It belongs to the C. × willisii hybrid complex, including natural Cryptocoryne parva hybrids and other Sri Lankan species like C. beckettii and C. walkeri. This plant is characterised by its medium green, lanceolate leaves that may exhibit slight reddish-brown tones under certain conditions. Its submerged form typically reaches a height of 5–15 cm, making it suitable for foreground to midground placement in aquariums. The plant propagates through runners, gradually forming dense clusters over time.
For optimal growth, Cryptocoryne x willisii 'Nevillii' thrives in low to moderate lighting conditions and does not require CO2 supplementation, although adding CO2 can enhance its growth and colouration. It prefers a nutrient-rich substrate to support its root system.
